I always ordered a Thai fried rice from lunch special and used to be really good.... Now I ordered a few times and is completely different, the rice is spicy and there is not on menu about it, the rice is dried, and doesn't have a flavor, taste anymore. I called them to tell about it and they didn't care, no even asked for a new one. ( my co-worker and I couldn't eat). Very disappointed!!
Don't order here anymore.

Good food but a longer delivery time
Posted 7 months ago by Ashish V.
Delivery was quick and the lunch special was great. However, the pad Thai was a bit bland for my liking. I got the chicken pad Thai and tom yum. First time having tom yum I liked the spice but there was no other flavor to it. Almost like a curried vinegar. Will be testing other Thai places in the neighborhood before returning here.

Best thai food on the upper east side by a long shot given how affordable they are. I've ordered from them several times, each time getting something different and have never been disappointed. Their vegetables are not overcooked, and are very flavorful, and nothing tastes as if it were just defrosted. Also when you say "spicy" they take you seriously and don't just make it "white person spicy". If you want super authentic Thai, go to Jackson Heights/Woodside, but if you want consistently good basic Thai food Luscious is better than any other Thai place I've tried on the upper east side.

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!! Waited over an hour for delivery. The delivery man was not even apologetic & so rude.

I love the pad thai here. I get it at least twice a week. The thai dumplings are also amazing.
Posted 10 months ago by Catherine K.
We typically order spring rolls, chicken gai yang and pad thai dishes. The food is consistently very good, arrives heated and delivery is prompt. We order from Luscious Thai quite a bit, and have nothing negative to say about the restaurant.
Posted 11 months ago by Merryl H.
Absolutely amazing. It has more oil and is spicier than traditional thai food but as result it's some of the best stuff I've ever had. Pro tip: Pad Kee Moa chicken. Never can go wrong with that.

Best thai food!!!!
Posted a year ago by Rohan P.
My colleagues and I order pretty frequently and love the food! So far no real complaints except I don't love the dumplings and they're a little stingy on the shrimp with the lunch special. Otherwise, they've been a hit every time, the pad prikh khing and som tom salad are great!

Ordered 3 items for dinner: Sate, Beef Panang Curry and Chicken Gai Yang. Delivery took longer than indicated online. Not a problem in itself, but the food arrived cold.
Items were not what I expect from a Thai place: chicken and meat was dry, food was cold, flavours quite bland. For example, the chicken was not marinated and cooked as part of the dish, but just a chicken breast thrown on top of some veggies. All in all not a place I recommend ordering form. I will definitely not go here again.

I've never written a review on here before -- but this food was bad enough to compel me. It did arrive on time, which was the only positive thing about the experience. The shrimp pad thai was dry and oddly sweet, in a way pad thai should not be. It wasn't worth eating. The steamed vegetable dumplings were full of only diced carrots and peas, which tasted like they'd been bought in the freezer section of a grocery store (also not worth eating). The Thai summer rolls were not made using rice paper, like they typically are in Thai restaurants, but instead some sort of white, doughy wrapper -- and inside was not tofu and glass noodles and carrots and all he other things you normally find inside a summer roll, but some unidentifiable starchy vegetable and not much else. Everything at this restaurant tasted like some strange Thai Lean Cuisine -- not authentic Thai food (or even authentic *food* to be honest)

Hands down the best Thai food around midtown east and UES. Our favorites are the spicy papaya salad (som tom), beef green apple salad, spicy basil beef fried rice, chicken kra prow, pad thai kee moa w/ sfrimp, and mussaman curry. Alway fresh and delicious, can't go wrong.

Food is fine but this place isn't the cleanest. In their last inspection in Nov 2013, they found live roaches and cross contamination of foods. Eat at your own risk!!!

Ordered a vegetarian option only to find a few pieces of chicken in it. Also, small portions. Probably won't order from here again!
Posted a year ago by Bianca F.
Food was okay, but portions were smaller than I expected and the vegetables were hard and not well cooked. Be aware that mild means not spicy at all.
Posted a year ago by Rachel V.
Their curries used to be amazing! Especially Massaman curry was off the charts good!!! But I think they switched cooks because now the food is too bland and not so good :( I advise ordering from somewhere else.

I've never written a review before, but after over an hour and a half of waiting for crap pad thai, I had to bring myself to do it. I decided to opt against my usual place feeling adventurous and reading other good reviews. Granted I'm a pad thai snob, but this was just HORRIBLE. Arrived cold, noodles were stuck together, I had requested it spicy and it came as plain as jane could ever be.

The best Red curry ever!!!
Posted a year ago by Sahil C.
I found a hair inside the summer rolls appetizer today. And that is too bad because I order from this place often (that is the only reason why I won't give it a 1 star rating. Had this been my first time ordering from here and hair had been found in my food I would only give it one star). But to find 2-3 inch long black hair strand inside my summer rolls really ruined my appetite during lunch today.

Posted a year ago by Tingting Z.
For the price, they barely gave any food. I don't need a free soda and when my order is $11 for a lunch special I expect quality and decent quantity. Food is very oily and the rice comes in a tiny tiny container. The starters they give tasted stale/old. Not worth the money for lunch.

We enjoy this place a great deal and for a UES restaurant we like it better than many of the Thai restaurants in Hell's Kitchen. As for authenticity, two of my closest Thai friends like this place the best, and I have only experienced quick service from them for delivery. It is my go to place for Thai food on the east side.
Posted a year ago by Simon K.
It's as though somebody sent an English grandma into a kitchen filled with Thai ingredients and she just did her best. Some of the worst and least authentic Thai food I've ever had. From the hot summer rolls to the frozen peas and corn dumplings to the foul smelling noodles. Never again.

Satay was excellent - make sure you order extra peanut sauce! The Pad Thai was good, but didn't taste like Pad Thai. It was spicier than I've had at other places and seemed to have a different sauce.
Posted 2 years ago by Amanda L.
Terrible service. Their original estimate was that the ordeer would take 10-15 minutes... it ended up being close to 90 minutes. The worst part was that they insisted throughout that the food was "ready and just a few minutes away".

disgusting. ordered shrimp pad thai, came with two pieces of shrimp, both inedible. The noodle itself is over cooked and sitting in a weird red sauce. The salad was brown and the dressing is basically a glob of peanut butter. the only thing they got right is the diet coke.
Posted 3 years ago by Fei Z.
Very good! Would definitely recommend going here. Prices were reasonable, and the food is excellent! And they don't chicken out on the spicy.
Posted 3 years ago by Dane S.
Very disappointing! I ordered the Shrimp Graw Prow, which was supposed to have basil, peppers and onions. I basically got a full container of shrimp, onions and garlic sauce. There were literally 2 tiny slices of peppers, and 2 pices of basic. Do not order here.

Since there is no option for a zero. Terrible. We waited over an hour for our food to be delievered. When we called to check on the order never left the restaurant. We asked to cancel it. The order was placed at 7:44 PM - it was delievered at 9:30 PM after being cancelled. I called the restaurant to let the man know that it had been delievered - he acknowledged that the order had been cancelled and then offered to let us keep it for free (only after I said that it had been left ) - I thanked him but said we would not accept and that the food would be with the doorman and they could pick it up at their convenience.

We got Chicken Red Curry and Shrimp Pad Thai. Both were very good. We live seven blocks away, and the food arrived reasonably quickly, and at a good temperature. The portions are very generous, and both items were still very tasty the following day for lunch.

The food is good--I have ordered from Luscious 10+ x's but their delivery time is terrible. Not worth re-ordering from with so many good Thai restaurants in the area.
Posted 4 years ago by Bryan O.
While not the best Thai food I've ever had, Luscious Thai is pretty well-priced and is located near where I live so it's super fast. I really like their curry, although it can be a bit oily sometimes. On the whole I've never been disappointed (although I haven't ever been blown away either). Definitely our go-to Thai place when we get delivery.

I ordered the lunch special which still cost as much as a dinner entree would here (or any other local thai place). However, it was NOT WORTH THE MONEY. The lunch special says you get an entree (I got a chicken curry), appetizer (I ordered Thai Summer Rolls) and a can of soda. First of all, I paid an extra dollar so I could get brown rice instead of white, and the container was the SMALLEST box I have ever seen. I didn't even know places offered something that was half the size of a standard takeout box. So already I'm thinking, "I paid an extra buck for this?" The entire contents didn't even fill up my plate. As for the appetizer, Thai Summer Rolls was pluralized so I figured there would be multiple. Guess again. It was simply one roll - cut in half. Also, the ingredients didn't begin to match what a summer roll is actually supposed to consist of. As for the entree, it was a standard size and matched the description. However, I ordered it mild and it turned out to be EXTREMELY spicy. I almost couldn't even eat it. Normally I order medium thai food but whenever I try a new place I like to play it safe with mild. wow. When all is said and done, I just wasted over $13.00 on a "lunch special" where the only thing that arrived as it was ordered was the can of Diet Coke.

We have tried most Thai places that deliver to our area and this one is the best! We always get the same things everywhere we go (so it is easy to compare!): Basil Chicken and Spicy Strings Beans (with chicken). The portions were large, the sauces were amazing (I seriously drank the sauce left in the container), the veggies were fresh and the pieces of chicken were high quality and much larger than at other places (not shredded, actually pieces of white meat chicken!). Oh, and fast delivery too! A+++

While the food was good, it took an hour and a half to arrive. My fiance and I called several times after the hour mark, and the people on the phone were unhelpful and inconsiderate.
Posted 4 years ago by Karen W.
DO NOT ORDER. Incompetent staff on the phone that can't find deliverymen after they "leave the shop". Food takes AT LEAST an hour to get even ten blocks away and they are not responsive about customer service when calling about status. Just don't bother putting yourself through it, there are better in the neighborhood.
Posted 4 years ago by Jeff M.
I wish there was a lower rating, but this is as low as can rate this place. 70 minutes after ordering, I called to check up on the order. I was told, "we are busy it is still here, should I cancel your order", I asked how long it would take for delivery and the answer was, "it will leave in 5-10 mins". 30 minutes after that I called to cancel the order and I was Hung up on, when I called back, there was no answer.
If I had the ability, I would close the doors of this place.
Worst experience I have ever had with any business.

I have actually never written a review before, but I'm a bit of a foodie; I really like natural-tasting, well-balanced food with quality ingredients no matter what level of food is being prepared. I'm writing a review now because this restaurant gave me a great little meal. The food was delivered on time and the delivery guy was nice. The food definitely wasn't expensive. I ordered a Som Tom Salad which was spicy like I requested, fresh and crisp. I was in the mood for a basic chicken pad thai and it arrived hot temperature-wise, the dish was well-balanced and the sauce tasted very natural. You could tell the ingredients were a nice quality and they didn't use an overkill of bad salt or msg like other places. The flavors were really nice in both dishes and the overall meal surprised me. I never like Thai options in this neighborhood, so I'm glad this one didn't disappoint.

This place does not know customer service. Even though the food is good, their computer broke down today and I did not get my food for 1 hours+ and they did not even offer me a free appetizer or dessert and an act of good faith.
I will *never* go back to this place again. Moreover, when I called back they were extremely RUDE.
Attendum: They eventually gave me a free dessert for my troubles.

Ginger beef which was listed as not spicy but could not eat it because it was so spicy, the vegetables were also way overcooked. The vegetables inside of the vegetable dumplings looked like they came out of a bag of frozen vegetables from the grocery.

i never have/make the time to do restaurant reviews, but i was so utterly disappointed in this order, that i am writing this review. when i opened the pad thai, it was like opening a leftover doggy bag that one would bring back from a dinner. the noodles were packed into a tiny container. it was below lukewarm and consisted mostly of broken pieces. seriously, leftover looked and tasted better than this. the roti was soggy and almost cold, and the accompanying curry was extremely salty. i would never order again.

Soups were amazing!! However, the rest of the meal wasn't so stellar. The beef smelled very old, and there seemed to be sand in the entrees. (the sand, or best I can decribe it, we would take a random bite and as we were chewing we came across hard small grit- as if sand got in your food at the beach.)
Also, the delivery guy didn't bring the receipt for me to sign and blew me off when I asked for it.
Soups were the best part of the meal and the only reason I would ever order from this place again.

My order came more than an hour and a half after I ordered, and when it did finally come, it wasn't what I'd actually ordered. Couldn't eat the chicken curry puffs that came instead of the spring rolls I ordered because I'm a vegetarian, and the co-worker who took them off of my hands said they were dry and hard. The noodle soup I did eat was unimpressive.
